Far from mediocre, the invention with its many attractive characteristics, has received global attention. The company that devised the Quadrofoil, is based on a group of innovative engineers, boating aficionados and inventors. The creators describe the Quadrofoil as ‘thrilling, yet quiet and eco-friendly’. It is also the only vessel with a patented hydrofoil steering system.

So what exactly makes the Quadrofoil different from other inventions? Its silent motors, combined with an ecological zero emission system enables it to be used in lakes, rivers and protected marine areas, where most motorboats are not allowed. Delivering a watercraft that is efficient, low maintenance and significantly quiet was a priority for the creators.

Quadrofoil uses a C-foil technology–the wing-like structure attached to the hull of the vessel, which stabilises and supports its buoyancy, allowing it to be lifted above the surface and move with minimal water resistance. The hydrofoil system reduces drifting and fuel consumption while increasing the speed and energy efficiency. When airborne, it skims through with much precision, thanks to its streamlined design and advanced engineering.

The perfect joyride, Quadrofoil flies over water at 40km/h without creating any waves. It has minimal maintenance costs and is powered by an integrated battery management structure, which amazingly runs a 100km on a single charge. The batteries are fully chargeable with regular 110V or 220V socket though a special charger provided with the watercraft.

Surprisingly, piloting these chic machines are much simpler than one would have anticipated. It requires basic knowledge of navigating a normal boat and can be operated by the steering wheel, which is rather simple to operate with its touch-screen display. The cockpit display consists of all the necessary information such as the speed, battery power, range and power consumption. The watercraft boasts dual seats that are soft and ergonomic, guaranteeing a smooth and comfortable ride for all users.

Noticeably, safety measures have not been in any way, disregarded in the making of the lightweight watercraft. In the span of the production period, numerous tests were conducted, and to ensure the maximum protection, an anti-collision system that absorbs any collision shocks, was integrated into the structure. This inbuilt precaution technique reduces any impacts and secures safety for the passengers and watercraft alike. Further, it comes with two life jackets, a paddle and a safety whistle.

It is also ‘unsinkable’, due to its hollow hull–the airtight top module. Moreover, the foil design which has placed the centre of gravity eight metres above the vessel ensures that the Quadrofoil stays horizontal and afloat at all times.

The Quadrofoil has two prototypes to offer; the Q2S, Electric Limited Edition and the Q2A. While the overall structure and functions of both models are identical, the Q2S—available for worldwide shipping in March 2015, starts at € 22,500 (USD 27,450) while the Q2A starts at € 15,000 (USD 18,300).

The vast difference in prices make it evident that the Limited Edition possesses features that are exclusive only to it. Noteworthy differences in the two models include a maximum speed of 40km/h, range up to 100km, 10kWh batteries and QE 5.5 kW motor in the Q2S, as opposed to the Q2A’s maximum speed of 30km/h, range up to 50km, 4.5kWh batteries and QE 3.7 kW motor in the Q2A.

Experience true bliss and defy gravity with the promising breakthrough that Quadrofoil brings.
