While the Hometown Collection is about returning to the roots it is also an acknowledgement of jewellers who pioneered the art of gems and jewellery in Sri Lanka. The vintage collection is emblematic of the hallmarks of Galle’s history presented in contemporary flair.

Each piece is crafted to imbue a story drawn from the magnetic heritage site. Strands of pearls in varying colours are prominent in this collection as well as the ‘Beeralu’ lace inspired designs.

Each piece reflects a fusion of eras from a colonial past as the designs convey the facets of Galle Fort such as the cobblestone streets and centuries old architecture.

Each piece is crafted to imbue a story drawn from the magnetic heritage site. Strands of pearls in varying colours are prominent in this collection as well as the ‘Beeralu’ lace inspired designs. The inventive merging of lustrous pearls, sparkling diamonds, empyreal emeralds and a combination of colourful gems set into design masterpieces bring to life the collection’s identity.

The collection’s classic elegance, vintage feel and contemporary vivacity endow versatility in design suited for any period.

A Celestial Sparkle

Chopard’s Happy Diamonds Jewellery emerged in the 1980s with the design of a pendent in the shape of a little clown. Its rounded tummy featured the characteristic swirling of diamonds, rubies, emeralds and sapphires. Thereafter a whole family of playful, feminine variations grew from the original clown pendant including teddy bears, elephants and ladybirds.

A relative of the Happy Diamonds Jewellery is the Happy Spirit line of jewellery. The mobile diamonds are the essence of this new jewellery.  They continue to captivate with unpredictable movements, this time however set in motion in a series of circles that spread out towards infinity.

The new line inspired by Happy Spirit embarks on a journey through the Milky Way. The gold rings surround the central ‘star’ symbolised by a fixed brilliant-cut diamond. Rounder, more luminous and ethereal these creations draw the eye much like the stars in the sky.

The pendants are characterised by concentric, elliptical circles, either all-metal or set with gems, and imbedded one within another. The rings and earrings possess the same motif. The circle as the symbol of infinity, unites the collection of Happy Spirit Jewellery.

The successive ellipses surrounding the diamonds are smooth, gem-set on the middle ring, or entirely set with diamonds. The Happy Spirit collection conveys a very contemporary style while highlighting a purity of form. These high-jewellery collections can be ordered through Chatham Luxury Watches in Sri Lanka.
